Tacos El Rey
Ok, throwback to summer. I have so many photos in my albums that I have to catch up on. Look for lots of postings in the days to come - and some of them may be taking you back a bit to those lazy days of summer. An event that I've gone to the last two summers was the Taste of Wisconsin in Kenosha. It makes for such a fun day. You can sample all kinds of goodies as you walk by the lake. We usually take in a museum while we are there, too, and hop on a streetcar for a ride.
If you haven't been just over the border to Kenosha in recent years, you really need to experience it. The lakefront is spectacular and there is so much fun to be had in the area that is free or very reasonable. And, of course there is so much good food to taste, also.
Just wanted to give a shout out to Tacos El Ray in Kenosha, which was one of the food vendors at the Taste of Wisconsin. It was one of the first tables we saw and we were ready to dig in. The nachos and tacos were wonderful. It was a great start to our day of tasting and wake up those taste buds!
I just love the scenery of the lake in that area. We took a walk out by the Southport Lighthouse and also spent some time over at Eichelman Park, which is an awesome place to stop and go for a swim and pull out a picnic lunch. Fun in the sun and some shady areas to cool off. And, the view isn't bad either! :)
