Halloween Costumes Inspiration
I woke up early this morning and got sucked into Pinterest in the hunt for a good Halloween costume idea for my five-year-old. Before I share a few of the ones I liked best, I want to share this barn owl costume I made for Will (the five-year-old) just after his younger brother was born two years ago. Seeing as James (the younger brother) would not sleep unless held, it was a challenge to find the time to cut and sew all those little felt owl feathers. It was down to the wire - I was sewing right up until we headed out the door to the Halloween parade on the village green.
James will be wearing it again this year since he's fortunately still too young to have ideas about what he wants to be for Halloween or to really grock the whole concept of the holiday in the first place.
Here's Will hooting and flapping for the camera.
And here are a few of the other costume ideas that caught my fancy and I've pinned some more here if you want to check 'em out.
This sad-looking child is clearly too young to appreciate his Max costume from Where the Wild Things Are but I think it's beautiful.
I love Ratatouille and think this is so cute for a daddy and little one, especially if dad has red hair.
This one is inspired! And if you add a hunter to the mix (reverse the gender roles to make it even better, methinks) you've got an awesome couples costume.
Check out the rest over on Pinterest and leave me a comment to let me know what you're planning for All Hallow's Eve this year.
