Honey Spice Nuts - gifts from the kitchen
Put these easy roasted nuts into little jars with ribbons and bows and you have a lovely addition to your Christmas gift giving basket, or stack several jars on top of each other, wrap in cellophane and drop off at your doctor's office, hairdresser or just plain keep them for snacks while watching those Christmas specials! They are good, easy and smell all 'Christmasy' while roasting.
2 tbsp butter, melted
1/4 cup liquid honey
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
pinch of ground allspice and cloves
3/4 lb assorted unsalted nuts
such as almonds, Brazil nuts, cashews,
hazelnuts, pecan halves and peanuts
2 tbsp butter, melted
1/4 cup liquid honey
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
pinch of ground allspice and cloves
3/4 lb assorted unsalted nuts
such as almonds, Brazil nuts, cashews,
hazelnuts, pecan halves and peanuts
Combine honey, butter and spices. Add the nuts and stir thoroughly to coat. Spread onto greased cookie sheet. Put in a 325 oven for about 15 minutes. Stir every 5 minutes to make sure it is evenly coated. Remove and cool til absolutely cool and 'dry'. Put in jars....most of mine did not even make it that far....I have munchers in my home.
